Barry Wishart was born in Auckland, New Zealand. He graduated
from Brigham Young University (B.S., Political Science, 1964; M.A.,
Political Science, 1967), Claremont Graduate School (Ph.D. 1971,
Political Philosophy), and Western State University College of Law (J.D.
1980). Mr. Wishart was admitted to the California Bar in 1981.
Mr. Wishart has served as a Judge Pro Tem for the Orange County
Superior Court and as a mentor in the Volunteer for Parolees Program.
He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, (Member, Family Law
Section) and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. Mr. Wishart has also been
invited to speak to law students at Western State University College of
Law on issues relating to family law and operating a family law
practice.
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Wishart worked as a college
professor at Fullerton Community College from 1967 until 1980. In
addition, he also worked as an adjunct professor at California State
University, Fullerton, in 1974. Mr. Wishart has published with Dr. Louis Reichman the following
books: Issues 4 Critical Questions for the 70's (1972), American
Politics and its Interpreters (1973), Modern Sociological Issues, First
Edition (1975), Second Edition (1979). In addition, he served on the
Board of Trustees, North Orange County College District, 1984 to 2001.
Mr. Wishart limits his practice to Family Law.
